Horrible Fortune in Poker

For a game where most participants rarely consider good luck, there are tonnes of superstitions in poker. When you mention that an individual was blessed in that poker tournament they captured, be careful of how you say it. For example, if you mention that you were unfortunate, your fortune may never change.

Ok, that may sound a bit ubsurd, but poker is a game armed with folklores. Did you know that if you’re betting a game with 2 different decks and you’re asked to select the deck, you should always choose the deck of cards that’s furthest from you? Or, how about If you have a streak of bad cards, you must hang out on a hankerchief to break your poor luck? It is certainly thought of as good fortune to blow through a pack of cards when they’re being shuffled.

Some other fascinating poker folklores are:

  • You will be able to alter the run of cards by walking around your chair three times.
  • The luckiest chair at the poker table faces the door.
  • The worst position has its back to a fireplace.
  • When altering spots, you need to constantly do so clockwise.
  • The worst poker card is the 4 of clubs.
  • It is most unfortunate to cross your legs when sitting at the poker table.
  • Sun is a terrible day for betting on cards.
  • The thirteenth is also a terrible day, despite when it falls during the week.
