In Advance of a Tilt

Ah, the poker tilt. If a poker gambler claims at no time to have peered over the barrel of a looming poker steam – they’re either telling a lie or they have not been wagering very long. Bad beats are going to happen. It is an unavoidable effect of participating in Holdem, or really any kind of poker.

After all we are assumingly (most of us) in the game for one reason – to make a profit, it certainly makes sense that we will bet appropriately to maximize profits. Now let us say you are up one hundred dollars off of a $100 deposit, and you take a gigantic blow in a NL game and your bankroll is down to one hundred and twenty dollars. You have squandered $80 in a round where you should have picked up $200two hundred dollars when you decided to go all-in on the flop and had a 10 – 1 edge. And that amateur! He bled you dry on the river? – Well hold it right there. This is a classic choice for a new bettor to start tilting. They just burned too much $$$$ on one round that they really should have won and they are agitated
